Eldo Body 889 and Eldo Soda Bar!

In this update we have 2 new additions to the roster, coincidently both happen to be Mountain Laurel examples.

First up is this original Eldorado Biarritz, body #889 from right here in the states. This car is awaiting a full restoration

OK, this one may not be easy to swallow. It's a 1956 Biarritz that was cut in half and turned into a soda bar. It is currently for sale on Hemmings.

The seller says that he bought the car/bar this way about 20 years ago. He did have an idea that this car may have been a Biarritz but never researched it. I asked him to see if the car still had a body tag on the firewall and to my surprise it was still there! The tag sadly confirms it. This car started out as a 1956 Eldorado Biarritz!  Body # 1823, originally painted in code 95 Bahama blue with a code 12 blue and white interior! Accessories were EZ-eye glass, heater and power trunk. The big question..... WHY???? We may never know, the current owner doesn't know why this was done. It can't be changed back thats for sure. 

After some consideration, I have decided not to pursue purchasing it (my wife said no). If you want what has to be the most unique and rarest Cadillac bar in the world here is your chance. Last but not least is this great old picture from a 1956 Cadillac auto show display. Of course the star of the show was a 1956 Eldorado Biarritz. Enjoy!
