The Spectacular Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz

In the two years since the Eldorado was first introduced by Cadillac, it has won itself a unique place in the hearts of motorist everywhere. Though the Eldorado name originally designated only the convertible model, it will include for 1956 both an open and closed car. The first of these- the spectacular Biarritz- is a true achievement in advanced design and engineering. Its high-sweeping fender lines... its beautiful grille and rear bumper assembly ... its unique "disappearing top" ... its special "Sabre - Spoke" wheels ... its special hood ornament ... its chrome ribbed saddle molding ... and it's many special color options ... give it a beauty all its own. To add still greater glamour, the Biarritz is available with gold wheels and a gold grille. And the Biarritz is powered by a special 305- h.p. Cadillac engine, and offers Cadillac's most advanced features of engineering throughout. In every way, it is a true masterpiece of Cadillac craftsmanship.

Roster Update #11

Hi All,

California Dreaming in this update with new information on two cars currently on the roster, both from California.

Some of you may remember this picture of an air conditioned Biarritz sitting in a lot,

It was just learned that this car is Body #401 and did not leave the U.S. This Eldorado was fully restored and resides in California. Go to the Emerald Green page for more pictures of this car completed and a link to even more pictures of this car. Click here to see Body #401 on the Emerald Green page.

We also have update information on a car that was originally listed on the Starlight silver page.

This car is actually a Bahama Blue Eldorado. We also learned the body number to this car. This one is BDY #986. It is currently being restored and also from California.

Since we are all California in this update, it is fitting to share a little clip from a Hollywood movie. The movie was called FOXES staring Scott Biao and Jodie Foster and was filmed in 1980. Towards the end of this movie, Scott Biao's character gets chased by 3 guys in a 1956 Biarritz. In this clip found on You Tube, the Eldorado is visible from the beginning until about 1:30 min.  Enjoy...

That's all for this update. Thanks for all of the recent contributions! Please keep the info coming!
