The Spectacular Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz

In the two years since the Eldorado was first introduced by Cadillac, it has won itself a unique place in the hearts of motorist everywhere. Though the Eldorado name originally designated only the convertible model, it will include for 1956 both an open and closed car. The first of these- the spectacular Biarritz- is a true achievement in advanced design and engineering. Its high-sweeping fender lines... its beautiful grille and rear bumper assembly ... its unique "disappearing top" ... its special "Sabre - Spoke" wheels ... its special hood ornament ... its chrome ribbed saddle molding ... and it's many special color options ... give it a beauty all its own. To add still greater glamour, the Biarritz is available with gold wheels and a gold grille. And the Biarritz is powered by a special 305- h.p. Cadillac engine, and offers Cadillac's most advanced features of engineering throughout. In every way, it is a true masterpiece of Cadillac craftsmanship.

Two New Additions & News on Two Current Roster Cars.

Hi All,

It's been a while! I hope everyone is well.

We have added two more cars to the roster. One is from Australia and the other is from Norway.

First up is this Mandan red Eldorado from Australia. It's currently for sale with an asking price of $120k USD. Multiple request to the seller for the data tag info have gone unanswered. The seller declares it is an original red car with original full white interior.

Next up to the list is this Bahama Blue Biarritz from Norway. This one has been in Norway since 1991!

Please go to the appropriate Roster page to learn more about these cars.

Two current roster cars are being offered at auction. The first one is Body #1430. This triple black Biarritz is currently on Ebay with a BIN of $109k.

Here's the link to the auction,

It's a bit unique because it's one of the very few survivors with non tinted plain glass.

The second car is this fine Bahama blue example from Washington State. Body #1762 will cross the block in June at the Mecum Seattle auction. This one is a chassis off restoration. Best of luck to the current owners. They have been great supporters of this roster.

Here's a treat from Joe the owner of car #1923. Joe put together these great info cards that you can print and display with your car. Thanks Joe!

Last but not least is this little gem. Did you know the 1956 Eldorado Biarritz came with a "How to operate the convertible top manual" ?  This was specific to the Eldorado convertible only. After many years of searching for this, I finally acquired an original manual. It's a 15 page booklet covering the proper procedure on how to operate the top and use the hard boot. Here is some scans from this manual.

Here's the manual in it's proper home after many years. Car #632 is very happy.

That's all folks!  Thanks again for all of the support and patience! Updates will resume at a normal pace. Get out and enjoy your ride!
