The Spectacular Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz

In the two years since the Eldorado was first introduced by Cadillac, it has won itself a unique place in the hearts of motorist everywhere. Though the Eldorado name originally designated only the convertible model, it will include for 1956 both an open and closed car. The first of these- the spectacular Biarritz- is a true achievement in advanced design and engineering. Its high-sweeping fender lines... its beautiful grille and rear bumper assembly ... its unique "disappearing top" ... its special "Sabre - Spoke" wheels ... its special hood ornament ... its chrome ribbed saddle molding ... and it's many special color options ... give it a beauty all its own. To add still greater glamour, the Biarritz is available with gold wheels and a gold grille. And the Biarritz is powered by a special 305- h.p. Cadillac engine, and offers Cadillac's most advanced features of engineering throughout. In every way, it is a true masterpiece of Cadillac craftsmanship.

Candy Apple Red custom Biarritz in Slovenia. Single carb setup with many custom features under the hood. Offered for sale 11/2012 for $175,000 euro.  


PNT# 90, Trim# 10, Top#1. ACC- EHS, Offered for sale in Hemmings 2010 for $90k with the following description. 1 of 1 EXTREMELY RARE FIND! This is the only 1956 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible known to exist with FOUR Headlights(see 2nd car below). The hardtop version recently sold for over 140k. Car has older restoration and has been in indoor storage for 18 years. Carburetors rebuilt 5 years ago. Needs restoration but TLC makes it drivable now. Interior is very good. Call for needs. 95% complete. Car was in Museum until 1992. Dual Quads. Parade boot. This is a chance for the serious Cadillac Collect to own the rarest of the rare.UPDATE 8/2012
This car turned up on ebay 8/2012 with a close up pictures of the quad lights. If this car is truly a prototype from the factory, why then would it have headlight bezels from a 1958 Rambler? Here are some pictures for comparison, you decide.

BDY #841, PNT #10, Trim #10, Top #2, ACC-EH. This car was originally BLACK.  This custom quad headlight car is located in Lima Peru and undergoing restoration as of 2009. Claimed to have transported Nixon in Peru. UPDATE 2012: Fully restored video posted see above. Car is on display in the Museo del Automovil of Jorge Nicolini in Lima PeruUPDATE Sept, 2012. This car was sold and on it's way back to the USA

Body #1005, Originally PNT# 36, Trim# 17, Top #5, ACC-PH. Current owner writes:This car is now painted purple and resides in Berkshire England, it is rust free and in excellent condition restored by myself. The car has been in England from new and was imported and sold by a company called Lendrum and Hartman in London to a carriage company and then was owned by Twickenham studios.  Updated June 2013.


This one is from Hawaii and underwent an engine transplant.  A Chevy LS3 create engine has been custom fitted to this car in 2012

Body #1823, now a soda bar. Originally painted in code 95 Bahama blue with a code 12 blue and white interior! Accessories were EZ-eye glass, heater and power trunk. The body tag is still attached to the firewall. No engine but the chassis and front suspension is still there. The big question..... WHY was it cut in half ???? We may never know, the current owner doesn't know why this was done. It can't be changed back thats for sure. This was offered for sale in Hemmings, November 2012.
